Laughter Is the Best Medicine
93156215林佩君 93156222賴育潔

John and Susan are walking home from school. John looks sad.
Susan: What’s wrong John? You look a little under the weather.
John: I’ve been under some stress lately. I have had a lot of homework .Plus, I haven’t been feeling well.
Susan: You should relax. Learn to laugh in the face of stress, like Dr. Norman Cousins.
John: I wish it were so easy. Besides, who’s Dr. Norman Cousins?
Susan: He’s a famous doctor that recovered from a serious disease with the use of laughter.
John: How exactly did he cure himself using laughter?
Susan: Well, he watched some comedies while he was in the hospital.
John: And he recovered from his illness?
Susan: Yeah, he even wrote some books about it.
John: I guess laughter really is the best medicine.
Susan: That’s not all. Some interesting discoveries were made.
John: About laughter? What could they have possibly found?
Susan: They found that the way a person laughs could make one more or less attractive to others.
John: That’s true. Susie always snorts when she laughs, and I don’t find her very attractive.
Susan: Too bad that she thinks you are hilarious!
Susan: It has also been found that women tend to laugh more wildly with men, and men tend to laugh more with their buddies.
John: That makes sense. My buddies and I always joke around with each other.
Susan: That’s because you guys share a crude sense oh humor.
John: Don’t worry. I won’t tell them that I get all my jokes from you.
