situation:Alice has just checked into a hotel in San Francisco. After going up to her room, she immediately calls the front desk.
Clerk: Front desk.
Alice: This is Alice Givens, in 206.
Clerk: Yes, Ms. Givens.
Alice: I’m sorry to say that I’m not completely satisfied with my room.
Clerk: And I’m sorry to hear that, Ms. Givens. What is the problem with the room?
Alice: It just isn’t what I specified when I made my reservation.
Clerk: And how is that?
Alice: I asked for a room as far as possible from the elevator, facing away from the street. But this room is right beside the elevator, facing the busy street. Can you please move me to a different room?
Clerk: Let me see what I can do.(moments later)
Clerk: Ms. Givens, I’m very sorry, but there are no other rooms of this size available.
Alice: Can you put me in a bigger room, then?
Clerk: I’d be happy to do that, Ms. Givens. We have a nice, quite suite on the 10th floor.
Alice: That’s great. Thank you.
Clerk: You’re welcome. That will be extra $50.
Alice: Excuse me? Are you telling me you’re going to charge me extra to put me in a different room?
Clerk: I’d afraid so, Ms. Givens. The suite is larger, so the price is higher.
Alice: But you didn’t give me the room I asked for in the first place!
Clerk: I’m looking at your reservation record. There’s nothing here about any special requests.
Alice: Well, I very clearly told your reservation clerk what I wanted. She told me the room would be just as I requested. Since it isn’t, you ought to fix things—at no extra charge!
Clerk: I have to go by our computer record, Ms. Givens. On that basis, there will be an extra charge for a larger room.
Alice: I’m sorry, but that isn’t acceptable. People sometimes make mistakes, and in this case, your reservation clerk did. So I hope you will do the right thing.
Clerk: If you don’t mind, Ms. Givens, I’d like to have the hotel manager discuss this with you.
Alice: Please do. I’ll wait here for his call.

David: You look really tired, Lisa. What did you do this weekend?
Lisa: I drove to Hualien with a friend to see Taroko Gorge. I’m never going to do that again.
David: Why not? I thought Taroko Gorge was one of the most beautiful places in Taiwan.
Lisa: It is. But getting there by car is exhausting. And it took so long that we had little time to Hualien. That’s not that far.
David: Really? It’s about 250 kilometers from Taipei to Hualien. That’s not that far.
Lisa: That’s true. But it took us five-and-a-half hours to get there, and about the same amount of time to get back.
David: Five-and-a-half hours? I don’t believe you. Back home, I could drive twice that far in five hours.
Lisa: But that’s because in your country the speed limit is much higher. And you don’t have to drive up and down mountains.
David: Did you drive all that way by yourself? I thought you went with Gerald.
Lisa: Gerald doesn’t have a license and he’s afraid of driving in the mountains, so I had to drive all by myself.
David: Then why did you take the train?
Lisa: We thought about that, but all of the seats were sold out, and we didn’t want to stand up.
David: You really should have bought tickets earlier. The train gets to Hualien a lot faster than a car can, and it’s safer.
Lisa: You’re right. I’ve learned my lesson. From now on, no more long road trips. I’ll take the train next time, because driving for so long can be such a miserable experience. I really wish I hadn’t gone.
David: Don’t say that. You should look on the bright side. You won’t make the same mistake again, and your next trip will be much more enjoyable.
Question
1( )Did Lisa happy about this trip?1.yes 2.no 3.none of about all
2( )Is this a complain article?1.yes 2.no 3.none of about all
3( )What transportation did Lisa take?1.car 2.walk 3.space shuttle

Subject: Ask for Directions

Hank and Tracy are from out of town. They are trying to find an insurance company, in the Taiwan Bank Building. Tracy and Hank have just left the subway station. They see a man leaning against the side of a building.

Hank: I know the office is near the subway station, but I don't know how to get there.

Tracy: Let's ask for directions. That guy looks like a local,
leaning against the building like that.

Hank: Excuse me, do you know how to get to the Taiwan Bank Building?

Man: Hmm... Go down First Street to Fourth Avenue and turn left.
Then go down Fourth Avenue to Park Drive and turn right.

Tracy: You should write this down.

Hank: No. I have a great memory.

Man: Then walk along Park Drive until you see a small bridge.
Turn left after the bridge. That's Oak Street.

Hank: Got it. Thanks. Don't worry, Tracy. I never get lost.

Hank: Were we supposed to turn left or right on Park Drive?

Tracy: I don't see any bridge.

Hank: Hey, I remember this building. We're right back where we started!

Tracy: Well, at least you remembered something, Mr. Great Memory!

Now Tracy and Hank go back to the man.

Hank: Excuse me. Sorry to bother you again,
but we tried to follow your directions and we got lost.

Man: I'm terrible at giving directions. Sorry.

Tracy: We need to find the Taiwan Bank Building.

Man: Right. Go up that road until you see Joe's Cafe.
Turn right there and walk along that road for about five minutes.
You'll see the Taiwan Bank Building on your left.

Tracy: Those were different directions. We'll get lost again.

Hank: No, we won't! I have an excellent sense of direction.

Hank: We're lost.

Tracy: No, we're not. Look, there's the same building again.

Hank: Excuse me. We got lost again!

Man: Maybe you should ask a local. I'm from out of town.

Tracy: Look! This is the Taiwan Bank Building!

Hank: I told you I had a good sense of direction.
